Dairy
Dairy farming is an important and established agricultural activity in Uruguay. The use of state-of-the-art production technologies has caused productivity to increase, making it possible for Uruguay´s total milk production to increase. In addition, Uruguay has important competitive advantages compared to other milk producing countries due to significantly lower production costs. Approximately 60% of the comercial milk production in Uruguay is exported to more than 60 countries worldwide.

UAG Operations:
Our dairy segment consists of the breeding and purchasing of dairy cattle for the production of raw milk for sale to local milk and milk-related product producers.

UAG is a member of farmer co-operative Conaprole (Cooperativa Nacional de Productores de Leche), which processes around two-thirds of all milk produced in Uruguay. Conaprole buys all milk produced by its members at an established price in accordance with the international market.
