Currently all our rice fields are being irrigated following a superb emergence of the plants and excellent development during the crop's first stages of growth. The crop is entering the reproductive stage which is crucial in determining its yield potential. We expect rice flowering to start during the next few days and to take advantage of the favorable weather that has been forecast.We have also finished sowing the first crop soybeans in Regions 1 and 2. These soybeans crops have had an excellent emergence phase and initial growth has also been very promising. The crops have received small but vital amounts of rain which has made it possible to maintain high yield, despite a drought which has recently started in Uruguay.
